You’ll work at Clarence Correctional Centre, one of Australia’s most advanced correctional facilities. At Clarence, rehabilitation, reducing reoffending rates, and reintegrating inmates into the community are just as important as creating a safe and secure environment.

This involves...

Maintaining a safe and secure environment

Conduct searches, monitor inmate activities, and maintain a structured, secure environment.

Resolving conflicts with confidence

Use communication and problem-solving skills to defuse tense situations and maintain order.

Supporting and guiding inmates

Encourage positive behaviour, support rehabilitation programs, and help inmates develop the skills they need to reintegrate into society.

Responding to critical situations

Act decisively in medical emergencies and security incidents to ensure the safety of staff, inmates, and the community.
