You will manage and coordinate the production of modular housing products while leading a diverse team within a correctional industry setting. You’ll foster a positive and safe environment that promotes inmate rehabilitation and vocational skill development.

As an Industries Supervisor – Modular Housing at the Clarence Correctional Centre, you’ll make a positive impact by:

  • Leading and guiding a team of trade instructors and inmates to meet production targets and quality standards
  • Planning, scheduling, and overseeing production activities to ensure on-time and efficient delivery
  • Promoting rehabilitation through structured training and skill-building opportunities
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and safety standards
  • Managing inventory, tools, and equipment within the industries area
  • Building a positive, inclusive culture that values innovation, respect, and team engagement

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • Relevant trade qualifications (Certificate III Carpentry / Joinery)
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (or willingness to obtain within the first year)
  • Certificate III in Correctional Practice (or willingness to obtain within the first year)
  • Minimum 5 years post-trade experience with demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
  • Strong understanding of occupational health & safety requirements within a workshop/industry environment
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team in a complex operational environment

Opened in mid-2020, this 1,700-bed state-of-the-art facility is the largest correctional Centre in Australia & l ocated on the beautiful NSW North Coast, approx. 6 hours' drive from Sydney and 3.5 hours from Brisbane our region offers rainforests, epic headlands, sand dunes, and some of the best Australian beaches with a variety of multi-cultural cafes, restaurants, and friendly community towns
