We are seeking an experienced and strategic Health Services Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team at the Clarence Correctional Centre—Australia’s largest and most advanced correctional facility, located on the beautiful North Coast of New South Wales.

Reporting to the General Manager and with a dotted line to the Deputy Director of Health Services – Justice, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of healthcare within a complex, high-stakes institutional setting.

As a Health Services Manager, you’ll make a positive impact by:

·      Leading a team of healthcare professionals including nurses, doctors, allied health staff, and support personnel

·      Embedding clinical and corporate governance frameworks to meet national healthcare and correctional compliance standards

·      Overseeing health service delivery across three onsite health centres, providing evidence-based primary healthcare to a diverse inmate population

·      Managing budgets, resourcing, and third-party providers to ensure sustainable, cost-effective operations

·      Driving continuous improvement, quality assurance, and accreditation initiatives

·      Supporting the recruitment, development, and performance of both clinical and non-clinical staff

·      Ensuring the integrity and compliance of patient record systems and clinical information management

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

·      Proven experience leading and managing complex, multidisciplinary health services—ideally within correctional, institutional, or hospital settings

·      A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Paramedicine (postgraduate qualifications in Healthcare Management or Business Administration are highly desirable)

·      Strong knowledge of clinical governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks

·      Financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and contracts

·      A values-driven leadership style that fosters equity, inclusion, and professional excellence

·      Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and digital health platforms

About Clarence Correctional Centre 

Opened in mid-2020, this 1,700-bed state-of-the-art facility is the largest correctional Centre in Australia. Located on the beautiful NSW North Coast approx. 6 hours' drive from Sydney and 3.5 hours from Brisbane our region offers rainforests, epic headlands, sand dunes and some of the best Australian beaches with a variety of multi-cultural cafes, restaurants, and friendly community towns.
