About the Role
As the Driver and Logistics Support, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance and cleaning of vehicles including ambulance and patient transport vehicle and associated specialised equipment.
In this role you will:
- Check and test report on the performance of equipment, vehicles and other systems during duty
- Transport and distribute medical, pharmaceutical and general stores within and between health facilities
- Have provision for Non-Emergency Patient Transport (NEPT) to Defence members in accordance with the Defence policy
- Be responsible for ordering and receipting of medical dental and general stores using the Defence statutory inventory management systems
- Pick, pack, issue and dispatch medical, dental and general stores to satisfy orders from dependencies
As the ideal applicant you will have:
- At least 2 years' experience in stores, logistics, and a transport role
- Hold a current and valid driver's licence
- Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a defence security clearance.
About the Location
Lavarack Health Centre is located in Townsville at Lavarack Barracks, the largest Army base in Australia. It includes the Operational Deployment Force and facilities to undertake mission rehearsal exercises prior to deployment. The facility provides primary medical, underwater medical, surgical outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical care to approximately 8000 members. It also operates a 24/7 inpatient low dependency ward. The standard operating hours of the centre are generally 0700-1630 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend shifts).
