As a Correctional Case Officer, you will play a key role in supervising, managing, and supporting inmates while ensuring safety, security, and rehabilitation in a respectful and structured environment. You will work in Clarence Correctional Centre, Australia’s largest correctional facility, helping inmates prepare for reintegration into society.

In this role, you will:

  • Supervise and manage inmates while promoting rehabilitation and reintegration
  • Conduct searches, monitor inmate activities, and maintain a structured, secure environment
  • Use communication and problem-solving skills to defuse tense situations and maintain order
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure inmate welfare

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • A willingness to obtain Certificate III in Correctional Practice (training provided)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with inmates and staff
  • Resilience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Problem-solving skills and sound judgment in high-pressure situations
  • Physical fitness to meet the demands of the role
  • A valid Driver’s Licence
