Our team of Registered Nurses plays a vital role in improving health outcomes for the people we serve. You will provide comprehensive nursing care, contributing to the rehabilitation of prisoners and promoting public safety. Your work will align with Serco’s commitment to upholding the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and delivering culturally safe, patient-centred care.
As a Registered Nurse in the Health team, you’ll make a positive impact by:
- Assessing and managing patients’ health needs using complex clinical judgement
- Collaborating with other health professionals to support patient rehabilitation
- Developing and implementing nursing care plans in partnership with patients
- Ensuring culturally appropriate and safe care is provided
- Managing emergency situations and delivering appropriate nursing care
- Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
- Registered Nurse qualification with a current practising certificate and legal rights to work in New Zealand
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a primary health or acute care setting
- Experience in primary health or emergency department care
- Understanding of mental health concerns and the cultural needs of patients
- Understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi, its principles and related contemporary issues.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and patient-centered care
