About the Role
As a Locum Dental Assistant, you'll play a vital role in providing chair-side assistance to our Dentist, Dental Specialist, or Dental Hygienist during the delivery of dental services to our valued patients.
Your responsibilities will encompass a diverse range of tasks aimed at ensuring smooth operations within the dental practice while upholding the highest standards of patient care.
In this role you will
- Prepare and sterilise dental instruments and equipment to ensure they meet infection control standards
- Assist with patient management, chair positioning, provide instruments and dispense materials as directed by the clinician
- Record and update patient medical histories, treatment plans, and notes
- Maintain a clean and safe treatment area by performing routine care and maintenance of dental equipment following sterilisation protocols
- Prepare and mix dental materials such as fillings, impressions, and cements
As the ideal applicant you will have
- At least 2 years’ full-time chair-side dental assisting experience in the last 5 years
- A Certificate III or Certificare IV in Dental Assisting
- A current First Aid (HLTAID011) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certificate
- Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Defence Security Clearance
- The ability to travel a minimum of 2 weeks full time per contract, and commit to 4 weeks total per/quarter.
